The electronic services reference librarian at the William S. Boyd School of Law, UNLV is responsible for providing reference and research assistance to patrons, as well as maintaining and developing the Library’s electronic resources. This position requires excellent customer service skills and a strong knowledge of legal research databases and other electronic resources. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with law students and faculty.
Duties and Responsibilities
As the Electronic Services Reference Librarian at the William S. Boyd School of Law, UNLV, some of my duties and responsibilities include:
-Maintaining and promoting the library’s electronic resources, including the law school’s subscription to Westlaw
-Providing reference and research assistance to law students, faculty, and staff
-Teaching research and legal research courses
-Assisting with collection development
-Attending faculty meetings
The William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV is looking for an Electronic Services Reference Librarian. The librarian will provide reference and research services, manage electronic resources, and teach research and information literacy skills to law students and faculty.
The ideal candidate will have a JD from an accredited law school, a minimum of two years of experience working in a law library, and strong customer service skills. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable using a variety of electronic resources and have the ability to train others in their use.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years professional experience working in a law library or a related field, as well as excellent customer service skills. Additionally, the ability to speak Spanish fluently is highly preferred.
The William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV is now accepting applications for the position of Electronic Services Reference Librarian. This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports to the Head of Reference and Instructional Services. The successful candidate will provide reference and research services to patrons in person, by phone, and online; create and maintain library guides; collaborate with faculty on research projects; participate in collection development; and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements for the position include an ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent degree, a minimum of one year of professional library experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong commitment to public service. Preferred qualifications include experience providing reference services in an academic law library setting and experience with legal research databases.
